My Workflow

I just recently started optimizing my workflow based on suggestions from other developers, personal research and the need for an easier way to access resources offsite. As part of this solution, I upgraded my DropBox account to accommodate the level of storage I would need to literally hold all of my design/development resources. BOOM.

The Issue

I wanted all of my resources in one place, but I didn’t want to MOVE all of my resources from the directories I had setup on my desktop. Plus, the thought of having everything in a DropBox folder and not on my local machine sort of freaked me out. Also, I have a super cute icon for my “work” folder [fig 1.0] that I just can’t give up…it makes me smile.

In 2012 I attended WCSD (WordCamp San Diego) and had an amazing experience. After I left that event, I knew I would be attending every future one I could realistically make it to. I made a lot of great contacts and learned some invaluable information that changed a lot of my work process. Looking back at the past year, I cannot believe how far I’ve come as a developer.

The only downside to my 2012 experience (which is completely my fault) was that I went into the weekend a little unprepared. At the time my website was offline, and had been for about a year leading up to that point. I also came without business cards, as the ones I did have, had outdated information and were completely irrelevant.
